Assault on minor: Police to seek custody of accused

The police will move an application before the magistrate court at Thodupuzha on Monday to get the custody of Arun Anand, the accused in the assault case of a seven-year-old boy who was admitted to a hospital at Kolencherry in a critical condition.

Thodupuzha Deputy Superintendent of Police K.P Jose on Sunday said that his custody was needed for collecting more evidences.

The police are also planing to slap POCSO case on the accused as evidences were collected to show that he had sexually abused the four-year-old younger brother of the victim.

The police had collected more details of the torture from the mother of the children.

Mr. Jose said that there were blood stains on the walls and floor of the rented house at Kumaramangalam where the accused was staying with the victims for a month.

There were seven cases including murder against the accused in different police stations.
