Darshan to devotees will be given top priority during the annual ‘Chandanotsavam’ of Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy on May 7 and VIP and VVIPs will be given time slots to which they should adhere to, District Collector K. Bhaskar has said.
He reviewed the arrangements being made for the utsav atop the hill, including the queues and emergency exits, on Monday with Executive Officer K. Ramachandra Mohan and DCP-II Adnan Nayeem Asmi.
The poles erected for shade should be strong enough in view of the possibility of cyclone affecting the district, he said. Spare material should be kept ready.
Free buses will be arranged to transport devotees uphill and only vehicles of VIPs and VVIPs would be allowed uphill with a parking lot for them.
The queues being set up would be longer to ensure quick darshan and arrangements like shade, carpets, continuous supply of drinking water and buttermilk. ‘Prasadam’ will be distributed. Tickets of ₹200, ₹500 and ₹1,000 will be sold.
Mr. Bhaskar said the specially-abled would be allowed to have ‘darshan’ from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. with an attendant.
