The Election Commission has ordered repoll in 18 polling stations in Arunachal Pradesh’s Kurung Kumey district on April 27. These booths include the ones at Cheki and Pating villages where, the Congress had alleged, votes were cast in the name of 37 voters who had died over the past few months.
According to the officer of the State’s Chief Electoral Officer, the 18 booths are spread across four Assembly constituencies – Palin, Nyapin, Tali, and Koloriang. Fresh voting will be held in 17 of these booths for both the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.
Repolling will be held in the Amsukpinja booth under Palin Assembly constituency for the Assembly election.
All the constituencies are reserved for Scheduled Tribes.
