‘Govt. committed to building Ram temple’

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) asserted on Sunday that the Centre was committed to the construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya and welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision to refer the long-pending title suit to a mediation panel.

“It was expected from the government that it will bring an ordinance for construction of Ram temple but it could not,” RSS general secretary Bhaiyyaji Joshi told reporters after the conclusion of the three-day conclave of its highest decision-making body, the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS), here in Madhya Pradesh.

To a query on Article 370, Mr. Joshi said, “It is expected that the government will keep its viewpoint firmly. After a decision on this (Section 35A) case is delivered, the issue of Article 370 will be discussed.”

He also praised the government for the recent air strike on a Jaish-e-Mohammad camp at Balakot in Pakistan. “The government response carrying out an air strike at terror camps is appreciated,” he said.
