Sai Paranjpye Films Festival will be held in Goa by State-run Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) in association with Goa Cinephile Film Club on March 8 as part of the International Women’s Day celebrations.
The festival will be inaugurated in the presence of the renowned movie director and screenplay-writer Ms. Paranjapye in the city. It will be held from March 8 to 10 at ESG, and on March 9, 10 in Vasco in South Goa.
The film festival will screen Sai’s National award-winning movies Sparsh, Katha, Chashme Buddoor and Disha. The Government of India had awarded her the Padma Bhushan title in 2006.
The film festival will open with Sparsh, said Mr. Rajendra Talak, vice chairman of ESG, on Monday.
The International Women’s Day film festival was started last year by ESG with filmmaker Sumitra Bhave’s films.
