Stephen Fleming deeply impacted by Christchurch shooting

Stephen Fleming was shocked and pained by the terrorist attack that killed 50 people in two mosques in Christchurch.

He said here on Wednesday,”I was very sad when I came to know about it. I was on a flight to Singapore and heard the news from my family who were around the town at that time.”

He added, “as part of the Canterbury community, we were deeply impacted by what had happened in Christchurch. To have this happen in your hometown, it’s very difficult to comprehend.

“I spent two hours in the Singapore airport lounge, watching TV, following stories through websites and trying to comprehend the magnitude of the event.

“We are extremely proud of the way our Prime Minister and the local community handled the situation.

“What happened in Christchurch was sad, but I am proud of our countrymen for the way they came together and helped the people in grief.”
