With the series already in the bag, New Zealand will be looking to keep the winning momentum going and whitewash India in the 3-match series. Both teams will be looking to make some changes to their playing XI for the inconsequential final game.
Team India might be tempted to bring in Rishabh Pant and Manish Pandey in their final XI in place of Mayank Agarwal and Kedar Jadhav while the Kiwis are set to welcome back their regular captain Kane Williamson.
Williamson had missed the first two ODIs due to injury but is expected to return for the Mount Maunganui ODI.
Having nothing to lose, India could give a shot to Pant, who has warmed the bench all tour thus far, in the final encounter. Pandey, on the other hand, was in good form during the 5 T20Is and deserves to get a game in the 50-over format on this tour.
India vs New Zealand, 3rd ODI Dream XI best picks
New Zealand openers Martin Guptill and Henry Nicholls provided good starts to their team in the last two ODIs adding 85 and 93 for the first wicket respectively so picking those two as your openers should be your first priority.
The No. 3 position should always be reserved for Virat Kohli even though the Indian captain hasn’t yet fired with the bat in this series. Kohli is due for a big one and Tuesday could be that day. Ross Taylor should be the next pick as the veteran batsman has played two match-winning knocks so far and is in tremendous form with the bat.
On current form, KL Rahul should be your choice as the wicketkeeper as he has been excellent behind the stumps and is also in red-hot form with the bat.
Ravindra Jadeja and Jimmy Neesham are the two best options when it comes to picking all-rounders with one giving you the left-arm spin option while the other is a capable medium pacer. Both are in good form with the bat as well.
Ish Sodhi has been called back in the New Zealand team so it can be safely assumed that he will be included in their playing XI on Tuesday. Sodhi on the current form is a better leg-spin option than Yuzvendra Chahal, who has been competing for a place in the Indian XI with chinaman Kuldeep Yadav.
Jasprit Bumrah, Tim Southee and Kyle Jamieson can form your fast-bowling lineup as all three have been excellent with the new and old balls for their teams.
