Virat Kohli hit his 5th hundred in the Indian Premier League during Royal Challengers Bangalore’s 9th match of the 2019 IPL against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens on Friday. Kohli is 2nd in the list of most century makers behind Chris Gayle who has 6 hundreds.

David Warner (Sunrisers Hyderabad) and Shane Watson (Chennai Super Kings) have 4 hundreds each. Virat Kohli (100 off 58) fell off the last ball of the over as RCB posted 213/4 from their 20 overs. |KKR vs RCB|

Virat Kohli had hit 4 hundreds in the 2016 IPL when RCB had their backs to the wall. A sensational record-shattering performance from the captain helped the team reach the final 3 years ago. Virat Kohli did not score another hundred in either 2017 or 2018.

Virat Kohli also happens to the leading run-scorer in the Indian Premier League. Along with Suresh Raina, Kohli is one of only 2 batsmen with over 5000 runs in the IPL.

On April 5, Virat Kohli had hit 84 when Roal Challengers Bangalore hosted Kolkata Knight Riders.

During the course of his 5th hundred, Virat Kohli went past 300 runs in a season for the 10th successive year in the IPL. Kohli had scored 165 runs in 2008 and 246 runs in 2009.

In 2016, Virat Kohli smashed a record-breaking 973 runs and 4 hundreds from 16 matches as Royal Challengers Bangalore finished as runners-up.

Despite Virat Kohli’s brilliance with the bat, Royal Challengers Bangalore have struggled as a team and continue to languish at the bottom of the points table.
