Yuvraj Singh joins Mumbai Indians preparatory camp ahead of IPL 2019

Yuvraj Singh joined the Mumbai Indians at their preparatory camp ahead of the 2019 Indian Premier League. In the 2019 player auction, Mumbai Indians bought Yuvraj Singh for his base price of Rs 1 crore.

Mumbai Indians will be the sixth team Yuvraj Singh will represent in the IPL. He has played with Kings XI Punjab, Pune Warriors, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Daredevils, Sunrisers Hyderabad before his move to Mumbai.

The Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai Indians’ home ground, has a special place in Yuvraj Singh’s heart. It was at this venue that he watched from the non-striker’s head when MS Dhoni hit the winning six to seal India’s second World Cup triumph in 2011. Yuvraj was named man-of-the-series.

Yuvraj Singh had a disastrous campaign in 2018 for KXIP. In 8 matches, he scored only 65 runs.

Yuvraj Singh last played for India in 2017 in the ODI series against West Indies. He was dropped after an ordinary run as India opted to try out younger players with one eye on the World Cup.

In Mumbai Indians, Yuvraj Singh will play alongside the likes of Rohit Sharma and the Pandya brothers Krunal and Hardik.

Overall, Yuvraj Singh has scored 2652 runs in 128 IPL matches from 2008 to 2018.
