Welcoming the Supreme Court’s verdict to dismiss objections raised by the Centre on a plea to review the apex court’s decision on Rafale deal, the Congress called it a victory for India.
Hours after the Supreme Court said it will examine the leaked documents while reviewing the Rafale judgment, Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala praised the verdict and said, “The Prime Minsiter was hiding under the disguise of the SC clean chit but Modi’s mask if off today.”
While praising the SC verdict on the Rafale deal, Congress found a clever way to promote its tagline for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections by proclaiming Ab Hoga NYAY’.
Randeep Surjewala said by doing so, the Supreme Court has blown the last lid on the government’s defence.
Targeting Prime Minister Modi, Congress said, “Chowkidar ki chori ka saboot desh ki samney hai. Ab nyay ki jeet hui ha [Evidence of chowkidar’s theft is out in the open. Now, justice will triumph].”
Surjewala added that the Modi government now has no official secrets act to hide behind and a probe into the “scam” will take place.
“You [Modi] can run and lie as much as you want but sooner or later the truth comes out. The skeletons in Rafale scam are tumbling out one by one. And now there is no official secrets act to hide behind,” Congress’s Randeep Surjewala said.
Congress president Rahul Gandhi also thanked the Supreme Court. After he filed his nomination in Amethi, Rahul Gandhi said, “The Prime Minister has been claiming that the Supreme Court had given him a clean chit on the Rafale deal. The Supreme Court has clarified and has begun an investigation into the Rafale deal.”
