Bikaner land case: Interim stay on arrest of Robert Vadra, his mother extended till November 4

The Skylight Hospitality Private Limited case pertaining to Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s husband Robert Vadra and his mother Maureen Vadra came up for hearing in Jodhpur Court on Thursday.

Justice Manoj Kumar Garg of Rajasthan High Court decided that final arguments in the case will be heard on November 4.

Further, the interim stay on the arrest of Robert Vadra and Maureen Vadra, was extended till November 4.

For the Enforcement Directorate (ED), ASG Raj Deepak Rastogi and ASG Bhanu Pratap Bora maintained that arguments on the basis of merit should be conducted.

In response, the court said that due to excessive cases which have been listed, the next date in the case would be November 5.

However, on ED advocate’s plea, the court preponed the hearing to November 4.

Earlier, final arguments in the Bikaner land case were scheduled to be heard in Jodhpur Court on September 26.

The hearing in Jodhpur Court was held on the petition of Skylight Hospitality Private Limited and Mahesh Nagar in Jodhpur Court.

Earlier, ASG Raj Deepak Rastogi, representing the ED in the case, had accused the defence of repeatedly postponing the matter.

He claimed that Robert Vadra and his mother had been enjoying interim stay on their arrest by the court.

During the August hearing, advocate Kuldeep Mathur representing Sky Light Hospitality Private Limited and Robert Vadra, had sought more time.

This was strongly opposed by ASG Rastogi.

ASG Rastogi said that the final argument in the case was kept for consideration and that he was prepared for the same.

The case pertains to the purchase of 275 bighas of land by Skylight Hospitality Private Limited in Bikaner’s Kolayat region.
