The city of Agra and the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) were dealt a major blow when Agra North MLA Jagan Prasad Garg died of a sudden cardiac arrest while campaigning.
Jagan Prasad Garg was rushed to hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
The city was plunged in grief over Garg’s death, who was a five time MLA from Agra and was liked across party lines.
Hearing the news of Garg’s demise, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath rushed to Agra and met Jagan Prasad Garg’s family to personally convey his condolences.
Shortly before his sudden demise, Garg told India Today of his unwillingness to continue his political career past 2022 and said he will engage in social service full time.
Jagan Prasad Garg’s only concern was that despite being a five time MLA, he was never given any ministerial portfolio by any chief minister while ‘parachute candidates’ were being made ministers.
