The India Today Group organised Suraksha Sabha (National Security Summit) where heavyweights from the government spoke on the security situation in the country.
The Aaj Tak Suraksha Sabha focused on India-Pakistan tensions which are high following the Indian Air Force airstrike on Balakot in Pakistan.
Union finance minister Arun Jaitley at Aaj Tak Suraksha Sabha said that people who do not know the basic security doctrine of the nation should be banished from public life, referring to Congress president Rahul Gandhi, who has time and again asked the Centre to divulge information regarding the Pulwama terror attack and Balakot airstrike.
Ravi Shankar Prasad, minister for law and justice and electronice and IT, went on stage with Aaj Tak’s Anjana Om Kashyap. Ravi Shankar Prasad talked about Ram temple issue and how ‘Balakot airstrike happened because of PM Modi’s courage’.
The stage was soon taken over by defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
“For once, the India media countered the Pakistani narrative with facts. I am very happy and full of praise for them,” Nirmala Sithraman said.
Among the political heavyweights were Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Union Minister for Minority Affairs, and Abhishek Manu Singhvi, Congress’s senior leader.
