Remo D’Souza’s latest dance film Street Dancer 3D hit screens on Friday and is performing great at the box office. Starring an ensemble cast mostly comprising of some of the best dancers of India, the film features Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles.
Street Dancer 3D opened with a whopping Rs 10.26 crore on Friday and went on to make Rs 13.21 crore on Saturday. It is expected to earn Rs 15 crore on Sunday.
While the film is getting great response at the box office, it received mixed reviews from film critics. Most of the critics are calling it a tad bit boring with poor performances by the lead actors. The dance acts are however being liked by everyone.
Street Dancer 3D is Remo D’Souza’s first film after Race 3, which hit screens in 2018.
IndiaToday.in’s Jyoti Kanyal gave Street Dancer 3D 2 out of 5 stars. She writes, “Varun Dhawan as a dancer who can win an international competition is still believable, but what is Shraddha doing in the film? Watching some of the best dancers in the industry dancing behind her is painful as it is palpable how hard she is trying to ‘look’ as if she can dance. Nora Fatehi burns the big screen with her moves. However, if one is expecting that she has more to do in the film than what she has done in the songs that have already been released, then sorry, you are going to be disappointed. Prabhudheva is exactly like how he was in the earlier ABCD films.”
The film hit screens with Kangana Ranaut’s Panga and going by the initial collections of both the films, Varun Dhawan’s Street Dancer 3D is performing better than the woman-centric film.
