It’s election time and the political leaders are doing everything possible to impress their voters. Assam finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, one of the star campaigners of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for 2019 Lok Sabha polls, showed off some serious dance moves to BJP poll song at Nalbari rally in Assam.
Himanta Biswa Sarma took to Twitter to share a video of him grooving to the BJP poll song in Assamese. The BJP song ‘Akou ebar Modi Sarkar’ (One more time, Modi government) was seen playing at the background as elated Himanta Biswa Sarma danced, jumped and lip-synched to the song.
“The joy and fun of being with people ~ dancing, chanting and rejoicing with them ~ is becoming a habit now. What an incredible video this is from #Nalbari pad yatra ~ You watch it and I am tempted to say, you shall start shaking too,” Himanta Biswa Sarma posted on Twitter as he shared the video.

Earlier, speculations were rife that Himanta Biswa Sarma would contest for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. However, the BJP later announced that the party “cannot confine” him to one seat as he has to handle the entire Northeastern region.
BJP General Secretary Ram Madhav said Himanta Biswa Sarma is above party chief Amit Shah for the affairs related to the Northeast region.
“That means Himant Biswa Sarma’s burden is much more than Amit Shah’s, probably. Because he has to handle 5-6 governments here. He has to handle the entire election campaign in the Northeast,” Ram Madhav said.
“That needs a lot of energy and time, so the party cannot confine him to one seat. We needed his time and energy for the larger campaign for all candidates in the Northeast,” Ram Madhav said.
